Liberating the Whore Pt 1

2010
01.12

The Gospel is the message of liberation and yet so few live as such. We find ourselves living ensnared by sin and live like there is no hope. Sure with our mouths we confess that we know we are forgiven and yet we live our lives with our sins hidden behind false piety. We seek to find more creative ways to conceal our whoredom behind conservative clothing which is far more treasonous than the sin we were trying to hide in the first place! As we hide our sins we look to our “righteousness” to save us. This is clearly a fallacy vehemently condemned by scripture. It is in fact by definition the anti-gospel of grace and making our “righteous” actions an idol. As such, by our actions we are denying the validity of the Gospel, saying in affect that God was not able to cover our sins and thus denying the work that Jesus did on the cross.
The Bible does not teach that God only seeks out the righteous to save. However it does teach that only the righteous will not taste death, and again it says that there is none who are righteous. How does this all work? More thoughts to follow tomorrow…

  4. Meri says:

There is a huge difference living in sin and sinning. We will sin until we are united with the Lord Jesus. I wonder are you talking about those who dive into sin and stay there.

honestly i believe that its also largely about the heart and mindset that leads u to do the things u do not soley dependent on the things u do themselves.

Romans 2:12-13, Romans 1:16-17, Hebrews 11:1, James 2:14-24, Romans 6:15-16, Hebrews 10:26-39, and Romans 7:14-8:17 all seem to fit together to make sense and give a basic overview of it all in a way that is really hard for me to describe.

basically the way that all speaks to me is that we all need saveing cuz we have all sinned (obviously), and its not the works that we do that save us we r saved ONLY by FAITH in Christ (obviously again) but that faith should lead us to live unashamed of God and follow wat He says not just hear it, cuz faith just by itself without causeing an effect on ur actions or heart or life causes that “faith” to be dead and worthless and isnt faith in the first place, cuz watever u willingly follow and long for is wat u are a servant to and u cant be a constant servant for the world that longs for sin and think ur saved cuz u believe that God is real and supposedly that means His Grace extends to u to be saved? its freaking OBVIOUS that God is real! plus im pretty sure demons and the devil believe God is real buuuuuut i seriously doubt they r saved. abuseing His Grace = bye bye Grace. but all this also doesnt mean that if u sin after ur saved that u lose ur salvation thats just stupid to think. while most people dont realize that its actually possible to live perfect without sin once u have recieved the Holy Spirit (yes it is possible, we rnt perfect cuz we all have sinned at one time in our lives but that doesnt mean we cant be perfect from NOW ON. Jesus was perfect His whole life and thats wat makes Him the true perfect) God doesnt demand us to be perfect cuz thats not how we r saved, but we r supposed to STRIVE and DESIRE to be perfect even if we dont reach it and that should be our heart and mindset. obviously most of us r gonna slip up and sin and such and its not ‘ok’ in a sense but its forgiven if we have that mindset and have true regret and conviction and such or something to that effect. and lastly the good works we do dont save us as i said before but they SHOULD be a result of ur faith but most people focus only on the acts when faith should be the base. but if ur life is all about loveing God and loveing others u dont even have to worry about all these details

sry if thats confuseing and i could be wrong about some or all of it thats just wat i feel like God is sayin to me but i could be misinterpreting. i also urge u to read those verses in that order and not just read my explanation. so ya thats all i got…

Meri- I think youre right there is def a disntinction between sinning and living in sin but I think we cannot undermine the seriousness of either. But i def agree that there is a difference, however the case I will continue to make is one I believe will apply to either situation. It will make more sense as the post continue to follow-up

James- I think you bring up some valid points, and some good verses to reference on the topic. thanks for that input. Can I give you a question to think about? you said towards the end of your response that “God doesnt demand us to be perfect becasue that is not how we are saved.” can you expand more on that thought and possibly why you come to that particular conclusion.

I think alot of times we do this as we hang out with our christian friends. We always try to hide sin, but when were around people who we don’t know we let our sin show alot more.

  8. Meri says:

I also would say for people in the sin pot. Please check yourself and see if you are in the faith. When we sin.. there should be regret. We are once again going” yuck..I did it again Lord.. please forgive me.” Repent and trun away from that sin striving to be holy.
If you are in the sin pot and it feels normal and good there… check yourself and your salvation. My 2 cents for the day.
PS… I am a women… do not like the whore title. If I was unsaved and saw this title… IDK…Same pet peeve with the restaurant H**Te*s
my thought what if there was a restaurant naming a male body part??
    OOPs…. major rabbit trail.
    In Jesus alone….!!!

  9. jameell says:

ya i kinda phrased that wrong eron my bad, demand isnt the right word. i meant more like God doesnt say “live perfect and THAT is when ill accept and save u”
obviously God DESIRES us to be perfect but thats not where the salvation comes from. i forgot wat verse it is but i remember there bein a verse like “we r saved by Grace by faith so that no man may boast that it was his own doing” God wants us to do so much but us as sinful humans screw it up and if we were under the law we would all be sent to hell but we r under grace now thx to Christ so God forgives us when we rnt perfect. that doesnt mean we should just drop the law either tho and that also doesnt mean we should accept not being perfect or abuse His forgiveness we should still desire and work towards being perfect just like God desires that for us.

as for how i can to this conclusion… i really dont even know
