I love to read! I will try and update this with things I am currently reading and will most likely review in the future. If you are a fellow book lover, I am always open to new book reccomendations.

Myth Cover Myth of the Christian Religion by Gregory Boyd “The kingdom of God is a beautiful revolution. Marked by the radical life, love, servanthood, and humility of Jesus, it stands in stark contrast to the values and ways of the world. Regrettably, many who profess to follow Christ have bought into the world’s methods, seeking to impose a sort of Christianized ethical kingdom through politics and control. In this illuminating read, Boyd points us to a better way. In 12 areas ranging from racial and social issues to stewardship of the planet, this book will convince and inspire you to live a Christlike life of revolt and beauty- and it will help you attain a practical lifestyle of kingdom impact.”

The House Church Book by Wolfgang Simson “In a world where the church is being ignored, it is time to bring the church to the people, and not the people to the church, says researcher and church strategy consultant Wolfgang Simson. His book “Houses that Change the World” (originally published in the UK) is widely recognized as a classic of the house church movement. Now revised as “The House Church Book,” this definitive work offers a comprehensive understanding of the past, present, and future of the house church movement-and the vital role of “ordinary” people in saturating the world with God’s truth.”

Search & Rescue: Become a disciple who makes a difference by Neil Cole “Christians today are on a rescue mission. Each of us is called to get involved in God’s plan to make disciples. A former California lifeguard, Neil Cole weaves together his personal experiences of saving lives with biblical principles for how to make and multiply disciples. Cole shows how to create Life Transformation Groups that can help a Christian grow in a safe and transparent relationship with one or two other spiritual pilgrims. Full of heroic and even humorous stories, Search and Rescue captures readers imaginations and hearts and doesn’t let go until they want to make a difference and know how to go about doing it.”

Christianish by Mark Steele “Somewhere between cold faith and hot pursuit lies lukewarm spirituality. And in the median between the wide path and the narrow road we find the middle ground of the spiritual walk. It’s something not quite Christian. More like Christianish. Christianish may feel like authentic faith. Yet it’s often easy to settle for the souvenir t-shirt the appearance of a transformed heart instead of taking the actual trip through true life change. We find ourselves settling for a personal faith that’s been diluted by culture and other people’s takes on spirituality. Christianish tells the story of one man’s journey to move from the in-between to a life that’s centered on Christ. Through stories and insight, Mark delivers a compelling look at what our faith is all about. Readers will be encouraged to become true Christ-followers, and to just ditch the ish.”
